Google now targets testing video ads specifically featuring YouTube. Searches. Since YouTube, ranked above Yahoo since it was gaining more poularity regarding search performed on their respective sites, and since the figures are mounting, it doesn’t surprise me that Google has made its decision.

This service is identical to AdWords and it may provide Google with profit for ads search. Youtube’s spokesman states:

“We are constantly testing a wide range of options to find the right advertising format, for the right content, for the right video experience on YouTube — whether you’re watching short videos or long videos, uploading videos, or even searching for videos on our site.”

As YouTube has struggled to monetize its widely popular site, this might come as a change. Though one can’t expect the search ads to match up to AdWords since YouTube is solely into entertainment category, which is video search.

Yahoo is successful in making voice search available with Yahoo’s OneSearch 2.0 application for Black Berry since last April of 2008. but up till now only few  lucky ones are able to try it out.

Last Thursday Yahoo tested voice recognition into the OneSearch 2.0 home-screen shortcut—available for a smattering of Nokia Series 60 phones—and in the Yahoo Go 3.0 files which includes BlackBerry, Nokia Series 40, and Nokia Series 60 models, such as the BlackBerry Curve and high-end Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones. People using the older of the models given above supported by the apps of Yahoo can have a download and be a part of a chitty chatty update

Although the technology may be improving as the days pass bye but the fact is many voice searches tried so far have fallen flat in the eyes of many. It promises to launch search in its simplest form possible in the areas where the sound is minimum. As far as experimented my me it was nothing but success that I found but have also had to punch in search terms or edit them in the search field when the speech recognition software bungled a command or when the search engines didn’t return the results the ones I had in mind. It might still be the one as it has some good options up its sleeve and as the time passes voice search is surely going to improve and might save time.

You can download the OneSearch 2.0 with a voice start-screen widget for select Nokia Series 60 phones by navigating to m.yahoo.com/shortcut from a PC or phone. The new version of Yahoo Go 3.0 (technically 3.0.4.6), which includes the voice-supporting Yahoo OneSearch widget, can be found for some Nokia and BlackBerry models at get.go.yahoo.com from a PC or the phone’s native browser.

Yahoo succeeds in hiring Jeff Dossett Microsoft’s seasoned campaigner as an executive. It appears as if Yahoo is gearing up to be in the hot waters and let Microsoft wreak havoc upon it. Since the day Microsoft’s VP and chief media officer of MSN Media Network, Joanne Bradford was acquired by Yahoo as U.S sales executive, the company opened their hearts out for their so called arch rival of the past.It looks like Microsoft is eying the influence it can create within Yahoo. More over Yang looks interested in devising a strategy to boost Yahoo’s executive slot. The total number of Microsoft employees in Yahoo would rise to three for this year if Dossett joinsit as well.

Its still early days to discover Dossett since job he is acquired for is still in the mist but who knows he might get something related to the experience he gained at Microsoft. Maybe he might be heading for bolster, the Messenger service of Yahoo? Only time will tell where and Dossett stands.
